We
accept - all types of computer equipment working or broken including
base units, networking equipment, PCBs etc regardless of age and
condition. We will accept equipment from all businesses/organisations and private individuals.
We collect - quantities of IT equipment no matter how big or small free of charge, or you can drop it off to us.
So for all our donators, we’ll try and simplify it for you. IT equipment is hazardous waste.
Recycle
your old Computer and Peripheral devices (ie: printers, monitors, etc),
Each monitor contains about 4-8 lbs of lead, encased in glass. This lead is designed to protect you against any radiation, However, if released into the environment, lead is a neurotoxin, which in high enough exposures can cause learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and at high levels of exposure, can cause seizures, coma and death.
Other
computer components contain various scrap metals (steel, aluminium,
copper and gold) which can be recovered and recycled. the base units
contain all manner of nastiness including a battery which makes base
units hazardous waste too.
